Inspira Theatre Company is seeking actors for its upcoming production. Two Philadelphia premieres, written by local playwrights. To be performed at the Adrienne Theater on October 11-17, 2010.

The Morning After, by Kristen Scatton

Synopsis: "Last night, Alan thought that sweet and sexy Mia would be the perfect one-night stand. This morning, he's not so sure. Mia thinks their night of passion means they're a couple, refusing to leave Alan's apartment. The only problem is, Alan's fiancee, Jenny, could walk through the door any minute. Part battle of wills, part race-against-time, The Morning After explores the dark side of love, commitment, and fidelity in 21st-century relationships with hilarious results."

Two females and one male needed for the following roles:

Mia - 20's, a sexy hippieish singer/song writer, playing guitar is a plus

Jenny - 25, Alan's fiancee, she is powerful and demands respect

Walt - 30's, co-conspirator to his buddy Alan, a really dry sense of humor

Synopsis: "Jimmy French finally marries at age thirty-five, invites friends Mark and Magda over one evening to meet his new bride, and triggers memories that were long forgotten. Meanwhile, Magda's Mom, Mumsey, raids the refrigerator back at Mark's house, and sends Magda on a frantic search for the hospital on Old Chester Road. And--Does Mark succumb to the hypnotic charm of Jimmy's new bride?"

Gerontia - 40-50's, a beautiful and motherly woman, the wife of Jimmy

Magda - 30's, Mark's wife, sleek and chic, beautiful but artificial and brittle

Jimmy - 30's, a comic book dealer, has always idolized his former schoolmate and best friend

Mark - 30's, a psychologist and best friend of Jimmy

Kee Casting is holding a Sag and Non Sag open call for the upcoming feature film, "Just Wright" starring Queen Latifah. It shoots in NYC mid July-late August.

We would like to meet new Sag members, anyone interested in background work and the following specific types ( even if already registered with us):

Queen Latifah stand in- African American 5'10"

Men- Caucasian and African American over 6'3" tall, who are fit and can be convincing as wealthy basketball player types. No ball playing involved, upscale party clothes.

Women- all races, who can play attractive, upscale model types 20-35 years of age.

Men and Women- all races who have experience as upscale restaurant wait staff (please note on resume).

Men and Women- all races who have upscale wardrobe, business and party.

Call will be held on Friday June 19 at the Eleftherios Church located at 359 West 24th Street between 8th & 9th Avenue, NY, NY ( wheelchair accessible)

Non Sag Men and Women 11:30 AM-1:30 PM

Everyone should come well dressed and ladies please have hair styled and be made up.
Please bring two headshots and resumes. Include sizes, any vehicles you work with, and uniforms and special skills. It is very important if you currently do not look like your headshot, that you please attach a recent snapshot. No calls to the office about this open call.

Theatre - The First State Children's Theater Auditions, Delaware (Newark)

Holds non-Equity general auditions during the calendar year for each individual production. Auditions for specific productions are held in the following Delaware cities: Newark, Wilmington, and Dover. Please check for audition notices in the Wilmington News Journal, Dover Post, Spark magazine and the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia (TAGP) website. When holding open auditions, the First State Children's Theater usually places notices in the audition section of these papers, and on this web-site.

The First State Children's Theater is committed to hiring classically trained, professional adult actors for all main-stage productions. Depending on the show, the theater will use children and young people for any roles that require a child or young adult.

Child actors (those under the age of 18) do not work under a professional contract, and do not receive a paycheck. It is customary, however, for our interns and child actors to receive a small stipend at the completion of the show, as our way of thanking them for their participation.
