Theatre - The First State Children's Theater Auditions, Delaware (Newark)

Holds non-Equity general auditions during the calendar year for each individual production. Auditions for specific productions are held in the following Delaware cities: Newark, Wilmington, and Dover. Please check for audition notices in the Wilmington News Journal, Dover Post, Spark magazine and the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia (TAGP) website. When holding open auditions, the First State Children's Theater usually places notices in the audition section of these papers, and on this web-site.

The First State Children's Theater is committed to hiring classically trained, professional adult actors for all main-stage productions. Depending on the show, the theater will use children and young people for any roles that require a child or young adult.

Child actors (those under the age of 18) do not work under a professional contract, and do not receive a paycheck. It is customary, however, for our interns and child actors to receive a small stipend at the completion of the show, as our way of thanking them for their participation.

Actors who wish to submit updated headshots and resumés are welcome to send them via regular mail to: Michael Boudewyns, Artistic Director, First State Children's Theater, P.O. Box 5714, Newark, DE 19714.

Please be sure that your resumé includes your current mailing and/or e-mail address, phone number, and the names of directors with whom you have worked; as well as the theatres where you have performed. Audition information will then be sent to you as soon as it is available.
