Once Upon a Nation
I will be a storyteller
once again for Once Upon a Nation, which is part of Historic Philadelphia, Inc.
In 2011, I told stories at Varnum's
Quarters in Valley Forge National Historical Park in Valley Forge. I
told 7 - 10 minute stories, from 11 AM to 4 PM Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from mid-June to Labor Day. The stories were free to the public. Visitors only had to approach the bench
and ask for a story.
-----------------------------------
Philip Jacobson's History with Once Upon a Nation I became
a Storyteller for Once Upon Nation in 2005, when Historic Philadelphia first began its Storyteller program. My first
location was at City Tavern at Second and Walnut Streets in the historic district of Philadelphia. I told stories about 18th
century Philadelphia food, drink and travel, throughout the summer of 2005.
Next summer,
2006, I moved to Franklin Court and told stories about Ben Franklin. My bench partner and I told stories to more visitors
that summer than at almost any other bench. When visitors from other countries visited my bench, my stories were translated
into foreign languages such as Spanish, German and Greek. I would tell stories in phrases, while an english speaking visitor
would translate to his non-english speaking family members. When Once Upon a Nation first added
Valley Forge locations at Valley Forge National Historical Park, I became a storyteller there. I was one of only two people
who was an original Storyteller in Philadelphia and also an original Storyteller to open the Valley Forge locations. My locations
were at the Memorial Arch and at George Washington's Headquarters. I told stories to more visitors than any other Storyteller
that summer.
In 2008 and 2009, I was assigned to George Washington's Headquarters at Valley
Forge. I also filled in at the Welcome Center (now called the Visitor's Center) and in various locations in the historic district
in Philadelphia.
In 2010, I was located at the Visitor's Center at Valley Forge National Historical
Park. I am the only person still remaining continuously as a Storyteller for Once Upon a Nation from the original group of
Storytellers first chosen in 2005.

Bistro Romano Murder Mystery Dinner Theater I perform at the Bistro Romano most
but not all weekends.
Fridays: 7 PM hors d'ouevres, 7:30 PM seating 8 PM show Saturdays:
6 PM hors d'ouevres, 6:30 PM seating 7 PM show I am performing as Father Pat, a priest in a village in Ireland. I sometimes perform as the
mysterious cousin Frankie, instead of the Priest. The story is called "Murder at the Irish Wake". As the Priest,
I was born in the United States and came to Ireland because my great great grand uncle was a priest in the same village years
ago. Seamus O'Brien has died, and I am presiding over his wake, his funeral. There are strange doings though, and something
questionable about his death. Occasionally, I play the very dangerous Cousin Frankie, instead of Father Pat.
Come to the Bistro Romano to find out how it all gets resolved. See the top of this web page for my schedule
of public performances. Note: If you are a friend or associate of mine, I may be able to get
you discounted tickets to a Friday show in which I appear. Call me at 215-206-7462 for information.
Because the schedule can change, contact me at 215-206-7462 or at pwjacobson@AOL.com to be sure I am performing the night you want to attend. There are steps to get to the theater
on the second floor. Rest rooms are on the first floor.
The $42.95 price per person includes
show, dinner and hors d'ouevre reception in the piano lounge prior to the performance. It does not include a $10 tip, which
would be suitable.
Three choices for dinner (all tasty) are chicken fish and pasta. Call 215-238-1313
for Bistro Romano reservations.
You can park in the parking lot on the right on Lombard Streete
between Second and Third Streets. Remember to ask for the discount card when you get to the theater. Currently it costs $10
on Friday and Saturday nights.

Philip Jacobson's Bistro Romano History
Philip joined Bistro Romano in 2004
as the Father of the bride in "Marriage Can Be Murder".
In 2004-5,Philip portrayed
Uncle Senior, a less than terrifying mobster in "The Altos: Lower the the Sopranos". Did Uncle Senior really want
to whack his nephew Tony?
In 2006-7, Philip was the maniacal Hal Lightbelt in "Double
Jeopardy". The author of the play wrote the role specifically about me. Philip also sometimes played Rex Wright, the
obnoxious Master of Ceremonies.
In 2007-8 Philip was Borgo, the crafty Romanian spy. He
also sometimes portrayed the evil Mr. James Lee and the nerdy Detective Ellery Chan in a split role.
In 2008-9, Philip portrayed Colonel Mustard in "Clue, A Murdered Mystery". Colonel Mustard was a man
of many personalities (and costume changes). Personalities portrayed included Captain Kirk, Captain Crunch, Colonel Klink,
Colonel Sanders and Captain Jack Sparrow.
In 2009-10, Philip played the role of Wilson
Phillips, the host of the Reality TV show, Brotherly Love Bachelor. Is Wilson really the main reason for the TV show's ratings?
Is there any product Wilson won't sponsor? Is Wilson's personality on the air the same as it is in private? Is there any reason
why Wilson wants someone dead?
In 2010-11, Philip is portraying the Priest in "Murder
at the Irish Wake". Philip also sometimes portrays Cousin Frankie. Watch for the twists and turns. There's a lot going
on under the surface at this wake. There's a lot at stake.

The Bates Motel
I performed as Joe Brute at the Bates Motel during October 2010 and October 2011. The Bates Motel has a Halloween program unlike any other in the Delaware Valley. There are three events you can attend.
There is a hayride, a walk through a Maze, and a walk through the Bates Motel itself. Each is unique and scary. I was a line person. That means that I entertain guests as they wait in line for any of the three events at The Bates
Motel. I also visit the commons area where people go between events. My goals are to keep people entertained when they are
waiting in line, and to make myself and their time at The Bates Motel programs memorable. You can see more information about The Bates Motel at http://www.thebatesmotel.com/. I performed as Farmer Fred at the Bates Motel during October
2009. Farmer Fred was a scary looking character with a deep gash in
his right cheek and a blackened eye or two. Despite being scary, he often made people laugh. He also got kisses on his cheeks
by some of the adult women.

| Public Eye: Artists for Animals |

|
| Captain Bill |
Not a Drop to Drink I recently performed as Fred the dog
in a family-friendly performance about Fracking. Fracking is a procedure that the government has allowed, but which can pollute
water and the ground and can therefore kill animals. "Not a Drop to Drink" is meant to increase awareness of the
harms of fracking. There have been two performances of this program, in and around Philadelphia. -----------------------
Philip Jacobson's History with Public Eye: Artists for Animals I was a runway model
at the "Fur-Free Fashion Show". What a hoot!
I appeared as Terrible Ted the Bear in "The Human Circus".
I interacted with almost every act, during the show. My character became the hero that protected all life on earth from
space creatures. Terrible Ted was an actual animal that was kept in chains and abused by his owners at events where people
wrestled with him.
I played Captain Bill in "Mouth of the River" and also was the narrator for a short
film showing the beauty of nature in the ocean. This production showed how we can help to protect sea creatures.
In the Veggie Cabaret, a program dedicated to vegetarians and vegans, I portrayed a Hippie vegetarian in "Harry's Diner",
The Grillmaster in a skit about the purchase of a huge grill for cooking meat, and a Hunter in "The Happy Carrot".
I was also the emcee for the evening.
I was a storyteller at the "Unhuggables" storytelling and music
program. This event provided an appreciation for animals that most people do not think of as cute. I told a story called "Skyler
Skunk Needs Your Help", about Skyler Skunk, who had some near tragedies with people and their pets.
In Veggie
Cabaret 2, I performed as Inspector Souffle, as Kevin the PhD's assistant and as a Holy Roller in the second edition of the
Veggie Cabaret. The Veggie Cabaret is a revue, featuring cartoonists, singing, dancing and skits to support animal rights
and the vegan lifestyle. Inspector Souffle, a takeoff on Inspector Clouseau
with French accent and all, kept disrupting the proceedings, while looking for protein in the vegan diet. Kevin,
the PhD's assistant provided information to the Professor which completely overturned his belief that animals are only meant
for human consumption. Kevin, it turned out, was an intelligent chimpanzee. The Holy Roller tried to convince
people, door to door, to convert to his religion. Instead he met a more devout person, prosletyzing people for the
vegan lifestyle. . |

ONGOING OR PERIODIC
Belial, a haunting
movie about a serial killer, has been released. I play the Assistant warden. To purchase a copy from the producers of the
film for $10, paste http://www.potentpictures.com/contact.html into your address field and then click "enter".
Dating
on Demand (Occasionally available for viewing on Comcast on Demand) - I was filmed as an Improv instructor in the Television
program "Dating on Demand: On a Date". The show originally aired 12/16/05. The show sometimes is shown as a repeat, Friday
night at 8:30 PM on CN8. When the show is re-run, it can be seen by those who have access to Comcast's Video on Demand service
during the following week.
I was in a show for PBS in Pennsylvania called "Explore PA", which occasionally re-airs.
My episode was filmed in Lycoming County, and followed the underground Railroad. My fellow traveler, Jennifer Garden and I
also toured Reptiland, Woolrich and the Buggy Museum.
I was filmed in a thirty second commercial, called "Test Drive".
It was filmed to be shown on Comcast Sports Network, and probably on CN8, OLN, and UPN (Channel 57) in the Philadelphia area.
It was also expected to be shown during sporting events at the Wachovia Center.
I have been appearing in a 30 second
commercial for Gloucester County Federal Savings, on cable stations Style, E!, CNN and HGTV in southern New Jersey.
